New Every Morning Is The Love
New every morning is the love
Our wakening and uprising prove;
Through sleep and darkness safely brought,
Restored to life and power and thought.
New mercies, each returning day,
Hover around us while we pray;
New perils past, new sins forgiven,
New thoughts of God, new hopes of heaven.
If, on our daily course, our mind
Be set to hallow all we find,
New treasures still, of countless price,
God will provide for sacrifice.
Old friends, old scenes, will lovelier be,
As more of heaven in each we see;
Some softening gleam of love and prayer
Shall dawn on every cross and care.
We need not bid, for cloistered cell,
Our neighbor and our words farewell,
Nor strive to find ourselves too high
For sinful man beneath the sky.
The trivial round, the common task,
Will furnish all we ought to ask;
Room to deny ourselves, a road
To bring us daily nearer God.
Seek we no more; content with these,
Let present rapture, comfort, ease—
As heaven shall bid them, come and go:
The secret this of rest below.
Only, O Lord, in Thy dear love,
Fit us for perfect rest above,
And help us, this and every day,
To live more nearly as we pray.
-John Keble
Ever been angry at God?
Sometimes we are too overwhelmed in our current situations. We feel this different kind of rage toward God for pushing us beyond our limitations. We unknowingly get vulnerable then to the enemy because of the resentment we feel and we what’s worse is we forget the sole and ultimate reason for our living and who do we honour at all times.
When God decides for us, whether it’s a yes or a no, it is most certain that God’s plan is clear and His promise to us is unyielding.
“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” (Proverbs 16:9). We often think that God gets in our way and we question Him for putting us through hard stuffs.
In our hearts, we are aware that God is working in every aspect of our lives through crushing and breaking us yet a lot of times, we forget about these and dictate our own paths. We decide for ourselves. We neglect again His sovereignty over us.
“Shall not the Judge of all the earth do what is just?” (Genesis 18:25)
Instead of accepting what He has given us with full might knowing that we are armoured by his love and promises, we put the crown off His head and put it in ourselves instead.
Our God is all-knowing, and ever-loving. If we acknowledge His power over us, a clearer vision of what we ought to do with our lives will appear right before us. “Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.”(Psalm 119:105.)
We have His mighty Word with every promise, every instruction, every commandment, and stories of redemption that we can believe in and stand on.
But if we do experience the sinful emotion of anger at God, what then? Shall we add the sin of hypocrisy to the sin of anger? No. If we feel it, we should confess it to God. He knows it anyway. He sees our hearts. If anger at God is in our heart, we may as well tell him so, and then tell him we are sorry, and ask him to help us put it away by faith in his goodness and wisdom.
We can’t avoid circumstances that will test us, and consume us from within, but we should know that God does only what is right. “Yes, O Lord God, the Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments” (Revelation 16:7).
At the present time, Satan has been allowed some measure of control here on this earth, but ultimately God is in complete control at all times and can easily override anything the devil has planned. If you’re a believer and follower of Jesus Christ, God has sent His Holy Spirit to live inside you and help you defeat the devil as well. God is fully aware of you and is working moment-by-moment to guide you along His chosen path for your life.
KNEES TO THE EARTH - by WATERMARK
Wonderful Savior
My heart belongs to Thee
I will remember always
The blood You shed for me
Wonderful Savior
My heart will know Your worth
So I will embrace You always
As I walk this earth
(chorus)
Be blessed, be loved, be lifted high
Be treasured here, be glorified
I owe my life to You oh Lord
Here I am
Beautiful Jesus
How may I bless Your heart?
Knees to the earth
I bow down to everything You are
Beautiful Jesus
You are my only worth
So I will embrace You always
As I walk this earth
“Extraordinary afflictions are not always the punishment of extraordinary sins, but sometimes the trial of extraordinary graces-sanctified afflictions are spiritual promotions.” -Matthew Henry
“The Lord gets his best soldiers out of the highlands of afflictions.” -Charles Haddon Spurgeon
In our existence, we’re meant to know what it means to be afflicted. Oftentimes, we let these sufferings outgrow us and win over us. But as Christians, we should know how to go through this since we have this definite “someone” whom we could cling on to.
Also in everything, we are also called to be joyful, even in the toughest times. Actually, there’s this incomparable joy that accompanies God’s afflictions ,yet we miss out this point merely because we worry too much that we can’t make it through.
If we would consider what Jesus did when He obeyed what His Father wants Him to do without complaining, wouldn’t we be glad in receiving every affliction too?
God does not want us to feel pain, but He wants us to acquire inner strength that comes from Himself.
He also promised that He will be with us in everything,so we must learn that in passing through the fire, we won’t be burned, but instead we’ll be purified.
Hillsong - United [Live] - Look To You
” I will answer them before they even call to Me…” (Isaiah 65:24, NLT).
God knows your needs before you even speak them. He wants to provide for you and answer the very desires of your heart. Don’t ever think God is too busy to answer you. Don’t ever think your needs are too small or that you don’t matter. The truth is that He cares about everything that concerns you, and He loves to hear you call upon His name! When you put Him first in everything you do, when you faithfully follow His commands, He’ll pour out an extra portion of His goodness and favor upon you!
Remember, you are very special to God, and He hears you and answers you. It may not be in your timing or in the way you expected, but know that He always has your best interest at heart. He is working things out for your good, and He will always answer—sometimes before you even call!
A Prayer for TodayFather in heaven, thank You for Your faithfulness in my life. I trust that You hear me and that You will answer me. Show me Your ways and teach me to trust in You as I surrender to You every area of life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
“Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all” (Psalm 34:19, NKJV)
Isn’t it good to know that we serve a Deliver? You might feel afflicted today, but God is working to bring you out of that difficult situation. It may not be in the way you thought, but you have to trust that God has your best interest at heart.
An affliction is defined as the cause of persistent pain or distress. I know that afflictions can take on many forms — a sickness or hardship, a temptation, a coworker or family member. There are so many things that can come against us, but God promises in His Word that no weapon formed against us shall prosper! Those afflictions are only temporary. Stand in faith believing that God is on your side, and you and God are a majority! It doesn’t matter what your circumstances look like, get up every morning and say, “This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it. My Deliverer is coming!”
As you stand and trust the Lord, He will deliver you out of all your afflictions, and you’ll see His hand of blessing in every area of your life!
A Prayer for Today
Father in heaven, thank You for being my deliverer. Thank You for making me righteous through the blood of Jesus. I trust that You have a good plan for me, and You will deliver me out of all affliction in Jesus’ name! Amen.
When God tells you to withdraw in that battle even when you feel victorious already, When God asks you to cut down that tree you used to hang on although you wanted to climb and be on top of it forever,
Would you still follow God’s way and obey Him even though you know that’s everything you wanted, or will you abandon God’s will in your life and go your way?
“Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.” -Romans 10:3
Christians fail to go in God’s way most of the time. God’s plan stands opposed to their efforts to make themselves righteous by their own works. They refuse to God’s call in their lives and pursue things that could provide temporary satisfaction and much worse they forget how Christ died to finish it once and for all.
Now this is where faith comes in.
Faith: Choosing God’s wisdom over our own ideas.
Faith involves being knowledgeable that God knows how all things truly work together. If we see a man walking atop water, we are shocked and maybe frightened. As we understand the all creation, such things are impossible. But nothing is impossible with God, who knows all things and gives accurate definition and reality to all.
The message of God in our generation is simple and clear and relevant: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, not leaning on your own way of thinking. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct (or straighten) your paths. (See Proverbs 3:5 & 6.)
God knows what He’s doing. God tells the truth about what He’s doing. God invites all of us to share in what He’s doing. The choice is ours to make. To follow God requires faith because we can’t always see the outcome from where we stand right now. The result of such faith in God is deep and lasting joy, and the rich blessings of God that will never end.
